Cool The TRUE origin of SUPERTRAPP Exhaust systems.....

I wish I could tell the story better, with names, dates and otherwise but I just caught it the other day on the Discovery channel.

A man that was a genius and inventor since he was a small child (always building and messing with SOMETHING) went on a mission to build a flying car. If you google him, you'll probably find some stuff.....

Anyhow, he had a few 1st attempts that flew but were very unstable. Each time he came up with a better flying car, he got more investors. I think this project is like 30 years in the making anyhow he talked about how GPS could keep us all flying to our destination perfectly fine and solve the overpopulated traffic issue.

So, at some point they show him riding around an XR350 or 500 and it shows a Supertrapp style exhaust. Apparently, the same guy that was/is designing these "flying cars" is the same guy that invented the Supertrapp exhaust. They talk about how he came up with a "tuneable" exhaust and sold it to finance his "flying car" project.

I'm sure there is more stuff on the web but I thought that some of you guys may enjoy my half arssed incorrect story. I thought it was pretty cool myself

I just wish they had used better metal on the silencer stinger, I'll bet the inventor did and then ST cheapened it up

And THAT my friends is how SUPERTRAPP came about and I'm headed outside to powdercoat the stinger and core of mine for the 3fiddyX!!

Interesting story. I had a Supertrapp on a XT600, the best exhaust I ever had. Wish I never sold the bike.

Supertrapp- originally developed and put to use in motors for the Volkswagen / Ferdinand Porsche Designed 4 cylinder horizontally opposed 4 cyl. (and some folks cut the ingines in half- (leaving a 2 cyl side x side....) Which bears a striking resemblance to an aircraft engine if you really look at it..........
