oil in air box yamaha 225dr

Hey all im new to 3 wheelers and i just got a VERY used 225dr and was checking things out and opend the air box and found oil in the bottom??? the filter was just a screen?? whats up with that?!

The screen is just the filter holder. There is 2 parts of foam that goes over it.
For the oil in the air box, there is a vent that come from the engine and it end in the air box. If the 3 wheeler was tipped over or on the grab bar, oil from this engine could have leaked from this vent.
