I though the older model big red was the 200e? Maybe, you better start by making sure of what you have since you may be buying parts and don't want to spend money on the wrong stuff. Welcome to the site. I have a buddy up in Hollywood Fl near the circle. He has picked me up several nice trikes from down your way. There was a huge atc shop in miami at one time and they even sponsored thier own racing team. I'm sure there are some really trick old trikes sitting in a couple garages and sheds down there. Keep you eyes open in the local trade papers for some cool stuff. And welcome to the boards. Best of luck with your trike.

    85 200s is not considered a Big Red. The 85 Big Red is the 250es. Either way I'm guessing a harness from a 300 (which 300 btw, FourTrax 300? trx300ex?) won't match up to a 200s or 250es.

I think the only other wireing harness that would work is from a 84 200s. The 84 and 85 had only pull start or kick start. They were not called big reds by Honda. No electric start, so the electrical system is pretty simple. The 84 does not even have a key, just the on/off switch. The models with Big Red designation were Big Reds 82 & 83 200e with hi/lo transmission, electric start, no reverse, and chain drive, 84 200es which had reverse, shaft drive, electric start and the 85,86,87 which had a 250, shaft drive, reverse, and electric start.

Take the fuel line off the carb from the tank, be sure you have fuel flow.

    Clean the carb.

Depends on where the gas is coming from. sounds like either the float is stuck or the float bowl gasket is bad.

what you got there my fine friend is a 200ES big red. i have an 82 200E I redid and hopped up. To get it working correctly, you'll ned the harness from the following bikes

    82-83 200e(chain) or 84-84 200es (shaft drive)
    82-84 200m
if you use the 200e (chgain) it will not have the reverse stuff and if your has it, you'll have to manaully make it work, or again get the correct harness.

those will work on your bike. the rest will not w/o modifications and lots of redoing.

look for those on ebay. you can probelby find the correct harness for about $35 shipped on ebay and save tons of tim eand $ from trying to make something else fit.
