Do what you want. Its a modern twist on a trail bike. There were tons of X's that ran 22" spider trac and wolly bugger back in the day. They would of gone bigger if possible maybe back then but they didn't exist. Look at all the mudder bikes with 28's and larger. Who cares, trail test it and if works others may follow. I always tried to go mutipurpose when I did any improvments ie: skids, gearing, pipes , but you know what you want, its yours. No different than my Bike buddies that run dualsport tires in the heat of the summer cuz they chew up knobbies in the hardpack. It may look funny to some that don't understand that sometimes function replaces form. Goodluck and upload some pics when you do it, some of us are wondering.

Also don't forget that you may rub the fenders too. Doesn't even have to leave the ground too, I noticed tire marks on my 200X's fenders after a quick trail ride and I'm on 22" tires.

Cool, Billy got us back in to the thread..
Tennessee we want to see your finished "utility 350x" when it's done..pics and videos would be good..
Have fun with it, don't worry about the some of the members giving you grief. You are doing the 350x no disrespect..not compared to some of the other ATC basket cases I've seen over the years..
Have fun with it..

Thanks Guys!! I appreciate all of the input and comments, even those that arent too thrilled with my idea. If I end up not liking the 12" rims and 24" tires on the rear I can always go back to 22"s or the 20"s it came with and try the 24"s on my 85 250SX. Nothing will be premanent so I wont be stuck with it. I will post pics as soon as Ive done it. Thank Again!!!
I wouldn't put the 24's on the 250sx..it will take quite a bit out of your acceleration. I'd stay with the 22's on that machine..

Who cares if you are turning a sport into a utilty, I seen many a 350x with rear racks on them. I don't think the tires will gain too much weight as you will have more aluminum taking up the sidewall space.
I personally would stick with a 22inch claw design and just armor up your undercarrige. I think 350x are better suited for a nice rear digger tire setup for traction instead of holeshots. Lets face it, 350x's are made to grip through the woods and mud, 250's are made to go fast and slide around corners so they are more suited for 20 or 18 inch holeshots. I rode Chris350x's 350x with 20/11/9 mudlites and I thought they were perfect! One thing I'm def not diggin is the 12 inch rim though, you want some sidewall to help with traction, soakin up rocks. Those big lug tires are used primarily for people running through mud bogs.
But hey it's your machine, you could even be onto something, afterall they said rock-n-roll was just a fad.
