    I now have 2 Polaris 3-wheelers

I can't believe it. I've wanted one of these for nearly 10 years then finally found one back in February of this year. And now 7 months later I found a second. The first one was about 35 miles from my house, the second was about 50. Both run great. I love these things. Click for larger pics.

Thanks and yeah they run pretty good. They are a 250cc 2-stroke after all. Its nothing like a sport model but it's not supposed to be, theres no expansion chamber or anything. I raced my cousins 1985 200X and completely smoked him. It was not a race at all. I'm sure with some port work and exhaust you could really get them to run. Polaris used that same engine in the quads for a lot of years to then engine itself is/was fairly popular.
Edit, I just noticed you have a 1985 200x, now it looks like I said that becaue you have one but I assure you thats not the case. And with that piston I'm sure yours runs a lot better than stock.

Very nice! How about some 360 pics, Better yet some video of them on the trails would be sweet. I've only seen polaris trikes once in a video on this site and that was from an old polaris commercial I believe.

Is that like pinch belt drive like a snowmachine?
    aka
    infinitely variable transmixer?

I had a harley golf cart 2 stroke like that and to go in reverse,
the engine would stop and then restart in reverse....
as in the engine ran BACKwards.

I had no idea and still wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it for myself.

Yeah the belt drive is infinitely variable just like a snowmobile, Polaris was making snowmobiles long before this came out so they just used that same technology. Polaris still uses belt drive today.
As far as I can tell it goes just as fast in reverse as it does forward. Obviously it gets way too unstable to run 45mph in reverse but the ratio feels the same to me.

I have heard of those Harley golf carts that run the engine backwards for reverse but I've never seen one.

Yep. I found both of them on St. Louis Craigslist. I was looking for about 10 years. The first one I saw on craigslist back in 2008 and it took me 3 years to get it for the price I wanted. The second I just saw yesterday and bought it. The first one was near Prarie du Rocher IL and the second was near Campbell Hill IL.
