    Rear shock/swingarm problem 1986 ATC250r

This is a freshly serviced shock, I swapped the stock swingarm for an LSR 18.5" (1" shorter). Dog bone is 6.75" ctc and wishbone linkage to frame is 7". What you're hearing in the vid is what sounds to me like the shock bottoming out on rebound...there is some sag and if you pull up through the sag it makes the same noise. Anyone have any ideas??? Thanks In advance!

Stock linkage? Have you disconnected the shock and run the swing arm through its full motion of movement to see if anything else is making contact?

Doesn't appear to have any rebound damping at all??

I agree with taking the shock off and seeing what is hitting...

Did you set the spring preload properly?

I havent removed the shock to test the motion, all the bushings etc sre tight though. I did notice my shock guy had the preload wound down a pretty good bit. I made some adjustments which seemed to help some. With a shorter swingarm the spring should be closer to correct for my 210 lbs I would think?

Dirtcrasher has a good point that I didn't pay attention too. The rebound dampening looks non existent! Does it change when you adjust the clicker??

get that shock built correctly, it seams like a pogo stick and that may be the sound that you are hearing from it "snapping back", it may be coming from the spring.
