    Went green today...first tecate....

I went and picked up this tecate today. I was told it was an 85 but my friend looked at it and said it was an 84 because of the front drum. I paid 1k for it. I also almost broke my toe kicking it over. I guess I am not used to it. I'll take more picts tomorrow, these are just from the ad.

Any ideas on the parts on it? The guy took it in trade and knew nothing about it.

Ya I rode it...I took it for a short spin before I bought it. I basically just shifted through the gears...the gas was really old so I just made sure it ran and shifted...When I got it home got some fresh gas and some klotz in it and took it for a spin. It was so crisp and hit alot harder than my r does. It almost seemed to crisp, I am going to clean the carb tomorrow and check the jetting and plug. Hope it isn't lean.

Nice looking trike. They did a good job cutting the fenders. I'd ditch the fork covers though.

1 to 1.5 inches of slack WITH the rider sitting on it is the rule I've always used. Haven't thrown a chain in over 20 years.

That's the reason I got rid of a few a while back. I got rid of the Z, an r and a 350x. Now that the 350x I kept is a good runner I picked up another project (85 R). I still have a 200x and a 70 project also but they're out of the way and very low on the priority list.
