1985 250sx no spark.. any help

I have a 1985 250sx.. It has no spark. I read an older thread about looking for broken wires at the CDI.. I didn't find any broken. I am getting signal to the CDI but no spark.

I do not get any lights on from the neutral switch so it there any way just to bypass that for now.

How do you check the CDI ? Or is there no way to do it besides swap it out. Any info would be great.

You can check the CDI with a good quality ohmmeter...you just need to get a manual and follow the directions in it...there are 6 pins in the plug and you have to check about 32 different combinations of these pins.....however.....since you say that your neutral light does not come on, I would check that first. These engines are designed to NOT fire if thay are not in neutral. If you have a bad wire or connection at the neutral safety switch, it won't start. I'm not good with electronics, but I think that you can bypass the switch by grounding the wire attached to the switch....lots of people here can tell you for sure what to do....electrical is my area of weakness...I'm just trying to give you a couple of ideas. Good luck

i have the same thing right now

sheet metal cover by the brake pedal, 10 mm swivwl and twist a wire into the N socket and groud it to anything...hit the starter if it lights up and you can let the wire dangle...or do it right

15$ for the switch and hopefully internally a new switch will actually work,
I've heard that it can be a simple matter of dirty connect but I just jumped mine to see IF it ran and was worth putting any $$ into.

150$ and its a monster so I'm gonna gamble a few bucks on it.

The reason i got it for 150 was it had no neutral light and wouldn't start so a foot of speaker wire and it started up so fast it scared me
