Also in regards to the 1987 atc 350x..that vin prefix belongs to a d-bike. It says JH2 not JH3 and assuming i read the number correctly,it does not exist # JH2MC1203HK000087 And as most of you know,JH2 designates a m/c not an ATC. Also if this was a good #,than it is # 87 off the line.(coinsedence ??) If im not reading the # correctly, please post it for me and I will run it on HONDA I.N. Thanx.

    ps..nice quad conersion,very clean machine !!!

We've got the 250R in Japan that has what appears to be the correct plastics and decals. I think there is no doubt they were produced. I guess my hang up is how many (If any) were released to the general public. Tht I'm not so sure about.

OMGyou flip flopping thrillbilly....I gotta get to work but I am sooooooooooo going to search and post links........... til your eyes bleed

According to my Friend who still is a high up at Honda, Honda did not release a single 87 250R or 350X anywhere including Canada and Europe. What happened to them he does not know but they were not released to any distributor or dealer. This guy has some of the rarest of the rare Honda stuff and even he hasn't seen any of the 87's.

Don't start that 500R debate again here you freakin pelican rapist I Mean I know they made the 87 enough to ride, but did anyone in the public ever get one? Thats the real question.

Welcome to the site, (sorry you had to come in by way of the hornet's nest) Post up some pics of your 87 and hang around. I'm sure you've got some good info we could all use. And don't give up the search, I personally would love to see one turn up.

At least your introduction wasn't "Hey my next door neighbor's daughters sisters uncle has an 87 250r, but he sold it for scrap the other day and I forgot to take a picture of it. But he got $23.71 for it and we bought Keystone Light." Thats what we typically get lol. Welcome to the site!

Anyone / everyone is entitled to make ther own opinion as to wether an 87 250R or 350X came off the "production" line, based on the evidence they are provided with, eye witness accounts, and infomation they have available to them.
I don't like the way minty pushes his opinion on to people on this site, we don't need to read a hundred quotes from Bill's past post's. Billy can have his say and minty can have his own, we don't all need to agree.
Maybe the 87's that were test rode were a bunch of moded 86's done for evaluation ? Maybe the brochure pic is one of them ?? Maybe the 87 never hit the production line's, Just the moded parts for the evaluation test's, factory riders and sales literature ?

whats funny is after all these years you'd think somone would have insider info like drawings or pics on what compainies were thinking of past 85. i was told long time ago the next year models is already started a year ahead of time at least, so by the time 86 was there they would of alread been working on 87s if not has designs past that. thats my guess.

alot of times a proto type is a good year ahead of a production type. but ya'd think somone from the enginerring department could of found this site by now and shead some light...i know where all my old designs and proto types go....sumone always can get their hands on that kinda stuff.
