Please allow me to introduce myself..........................

Poor typer, would rather talk on phone than type a lot, but here goes, got a 1985 125m runs okay, but need to replace both rear o-rings between the rim halves as both tires are worn out with flats in about a day. Also have a 1985 250ES I just got, I did ride it but bought it knowing the kick starter slipped and the electric starter did not work, after I shut it off I could hear something still spinning. Took the left side apart and the sprag clutch seems fine, it will turn the engine the right direction (ACW) and seems to allow free-wheeling the other way. What's up with the electric starters on these things seems to be a common problem, why would something continue to turn after I shut it off??? I've seen the Kick starter ratchet mods and feel I can sort that out but I'd like the wife to be able to use the button to start it, any help would be appreciated. Also have a Tecante?? It has a leading link fork and is just a rolling chassis, I'm thinking a 750 Norton engine would be badarse but will probably go with a SR500 engine as I used to road race one in AHRMA or maybe the newer 4 valve 600 I think they were SRX600's. Finally I have a 90 and a 110 they are both "projects". I live around Pittsburgh and would like to meet up with some locals especially if you got insight on the Big Red feel free to PM me and if you'd like include a phone number, Thanks.

You should be able to turn the driven gear on the one way clutch clockwise, but not be able to turn it counterclockwise.

Thank you, that it does..................which is why it confuses me that it continues to spin after you shut it off.

Thanks Jason, think they were Kawasaki 250's, I drug it home after seeing it in a backyard, initially attracted by the leading link fork, heavy frame looked like I could put whatever I wanted to stuff in there. It's a long term project (LTP) !!

Welcome... you're pretty close to me... I'm originally from Irwin, live in Cranberry Township, and I used to work in McKeesport. As for the Big Red, mine always spins at shutdown. I had a 90 that did it too, and they don't have electric start! lol

Was I the only one that thought this was going to be a Rolling Stones song by the looks of the title? Welcome to the board.

350XER, would that have been Frank's? nice joint not at all unusual for people to ride a quad there..............so far I'm the only knucklehead to arrive on a trike, OOHRAH, before I had to put Him down at almost 14 cause He fell down the steps and broke His rear leg Buster my boxer used to enjoy going down to Franks, He'd lay in the corner and enjoy a bowl or 2 of beer, everybody loved Buster. Don't know if they'd say same for his sidekick.
