These seem to be going up in price.

I wonder if their extinction is right around the corner like the front fenders. A few weeks ago they wanted $169

I have to give Chaplin Kawasaki credit. There must be a 3 wheeler fan there. They always are a last holdout on ATC parts. They were he last ones to have 250R short track tanks and rear fenders. It may be a sign that the Tecate stockpiles are running low.

Yes,,they have a 3 wheeled guy there. They order in mass quantity . They have ALL the fronts left for 86-7. I ordered 15 fronts and they ordered 135 and wiped Kawi out last year. I put away 6 sets of rears. And they just cleaned Kawi out. I don't know how many rears they have. But these are it. After Chaplins are gone,,it's off to the races!! Just like 3rd gen R now : ) . If you find another set of OE's anywhere else, they are old stock. Cuz Kawis are gone. Mine were stamped in 6/11/10. So ,it's not like these are " old". But they evidently are done making them..
Please help those who cannot help themselves.

ALWAYS buying Museum quality machines,3 and 4 wheels. And any and ALL ,NOS parts,EVERY brand.

Left side shrouds are gone as well. I bought a front, rear, and left shroud while they were still available. Maybe in a few years they will work out for me. I have less then $300 wrapped up in everything so the initial investment was nothing compared to what they might bring in the future. I mainly got them because my luck I would run across a 86/87 and not be able to find fenders for them. I'm not much of a hoarder when it comes to this stuff so someday they will be put to use.

Personally I think it will take way longer and might not even get there. People were prepared like you said and stocked up on these, unlike the Honda stuff that people thought would be around forever. I'm still not convinced the Honda stuff just dried up and blew away. I think there are a lot of hoarders out there that have a lot more of this crap then is being let on.

I'm too dam tired to even think today. But by the numbers there surely aren't as many Tecates out there as R's. I certainly think it will be a LOT of years before it's there( $1000 set} but it will . 10 years?? Where else can you make an investment that good.. { with little to no risk} Even now @ the price they're at,,they can only go ONE direction!! As fas as R plastics being held onto. Sure there are some that have them. I don't. : ( !!! But I think it is a very few number of people. Who knows!

The one thing the Tecate fenders have on the 250R stuff is that the aftermarket does not support the Kawi like it does the Honda. So when they are all gone and a guy needs a set, where does he turn? He will have to turn to the guys that bought and saved the oem sets. I think Maier used to produce them but who knows if they still even have the molds?

Crazy how everybody hoards this shiznit and drives up the prices...I remember as a teenager my mom wouldnt let me buy a cuda for 1700.00 even though I had my own job and cash. Now those cars go for sometimes over 1 mil in auctions ... WTF ?
Its a collector world, bmx bikes, old motorcycles, cars, skateboards, even stickers ... If its cool, people collect it and that drives the price up !

I'm with you guys, I am sure there are Hoarders out there with tons of plastics and tires. Not to mention Old Stock in warehouses/dealerships etc that is still undiscovered. Also ,,speaking of tires, they will not hold up in time and will dry rot no matter what you put on them after a number of years. Rubber has an expiration date so you hoarders with the Dunlops /Ohtsu's should auction off right soon because no one will pay big $ for dry rotted tires. I bought a NOS Ohtsu front 2 years ago and it had some dry rot. Actually I think that's one NOS part that can depreiciate in value over time!
