markings on 1985 250r cyl and head. name and letters.

i bought a 1985 250r 4 weeks ago i removed the engine and started cleaning all the grease and dirt off it and found the name Paul turner written not printed on the head. on the cyl large letters P.D.Q. if anyone knows the names. let me know. it could be the old owner marking his parts for identify purposes.

im building a rider 1986 250r the motor runs but i have one idea how many hrs are on it. came off a 1985 parts bike i have seen it run for 20sec. i do not want to risk it blowing first ride and damaging the engine. i have never touched a 250r before. the biggest bike i drive is a 250es. the r should be quicker. i'm going to open up the motor and see what's inside.

PDQ was a chain of high performance engine shops located in so. Ca. in the early 80's. They were on just about every street corner, kind of like Walgreens today. They specialized in the one-hour port & polish, similar to the eyeglasses in about an hour concept, thus the name PDQ, Porting Done Quickly. For some reason, their business never took off. It looks like they had at least one customer though.

That's what I'd guess. I believe they're mix & match parts from 2 separate performance shops. I know nothing about PDQ. My previous post was total BS for fun & games, thus the excessive use of emoticons.
