More so because he is using not an OEM tank or even rear fenders so it has speed holes...I like the orange shock boots. Are you going to widen the bike at all, it looks fairly slim?

I may switch axles. I have a 2nd gen 250r axle I might use. That's one thing that I don't care for concerning 2nd gen 200x. Very narrow axle.

I think you could prob use a banshee axle...i say this because its same 35mm diameter and i saw so many things close to the same when i was doing my 300ex swap. Just saying if you'd fine a rear end cheap on CL.

I'd like to try that. How wide are they? Not very familiar with a banshee. I've ridden them before but never looked into the specs. That would be cool.

Kinda hard to give you an accurate measurement with it attached but I just came up with 31 inches on my stock banshee axle. I am upgrading to a +4 Axcaliber sometime this year. If you are interested in using the shee axle PM me.

Jason, while your in there check the clutch springs free length this is critical with that engine and many modern MX engines. The stock springs and clutch setup is designed to slip a bit before lock up, this can be felt when you really get on that engine. But, don't take my word for it this info has also been printed in multiple magazines in the U.S. and U.K., 5 or 6 high performance manuals and Team Honda's race bulletins. (I can send you proof, but you will be able to tell while riding it)

The spring will sack out over time and they are available OEM and they are cheap.

clutch spring free length- 39.4 mm (service limit id 38.5mm)

Also check the clutch disc thickness which is- 2.92mm-3.08mm (service limit is 2.85mm)

The clutch plate warpage limit on the aluminum plates is- (service limit 0.15mm) They plates can also be de-glazed easily.

The clutch cover bolts get torqued to 7 ft-lbs.

I think he was wanting Inside axle length from hub to hub. If you want it with tires on, I can easily get you that.

I have had to do that with several engines over the years.

if nothing else, removing, cleaning and reassembly of the clutch can also help it start to operate smooth again.

then again that rear sub-frame.. it could be causing you havoc!!
Mike is correct, it works. Now buying brand new is always better, but a hard charger can knick up a basket in no time. I finish with these- http://www.cratex.com/cratex-cones/ You can also polish any clutch basket or inner hub with these... I do and can ride a CR500 with a one finger clutch.

Been out of state working during the week so wrench time has been almost non existent. I did manage to get the plates cleaned oiled and installed. Gears engage much better now.

    Ride report??? Eh, kinda...

Fired it up, put it in first, and off I went. Shifted into second with a nice rev of the engine, only to have the engine kill due to a fouled plug. My guess is the float adjustment if way off. Petcock may be screwed as well. Hoping to have more done this weekend.

Oh, I'm pretty sure my silencer needs to be repacked as well. What do you guys recommend as packing material?
