I do not remember seing them in red, but that was the first three wheeler I ever rode (a green one)
Its red, almost pink from sun fade. Ive always been more of a honda guy, but the price was right. Just not much knowledge of them.

Yup they come in red. Have an 83 myself, fenders in similar condition as yours. They aren't the prettiest or fastest but they make for a good run around or yard machine. Don't forget to check out the differential lock on the left real wheel. You can have it locked to spin both back tires or unlocked to spin only one, allowing for sharper turns and not spin up your yard. Also you got a rack and mudflaps so that's a plus for you. They are electric start only. Also they are not automatic, instead they are 5 speed manual so have to use the clutch when shifting. There is no reverse either.
Here are pics of mine when I got it below.

The diff can screw if you ride it on hills with it unlocked or try to pull a heavy trailer with it unlocked . But they are fun with the diff and make a good yard bike to pull a mower with out tearing up the yard
If its on the internet its got to be true they can't put any lie's on the internet
not bad, that's a great find, you dont see nearly as many Kawi's as you do Hondas or Yamahas, except for the Tecate of course. I had a line on a KLT 200B (like the KLT200C, but with either no or a telescopic front suspension and a Solid Axle rear) for $125, but I had no way to travel to Illinois to pick it up. it was an 85 in Black. At least that was what the description said, it may have been a 160.
Never forget the past , but dont dwell on it.

My first 3 wheeler was the 81 klt. Loved that thing, of course I didn't know any better the Honda 185 would have been a better bike I'm sure. The fuel pump was a real pain to deal with, if it sat for more than a week it didn't like to start. Still had great times on that thing.
its either a 1983 0r 1984 klt200c
