No offense 'sox, but the scenario posted above wasn't an accident, you were negligent in your handling of the firearm:
The Four Rules
All guns are always loaded.
Never point the gun at anything you are not willing to destroy.
Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target (and you have made the decision to shoot).
If you are cleaning your gun, why is it loaded?
If you weren't sure it was loaded, why are you messing around by the trigger?
Point being, if you had followed all 4 of the rules you never would have negligently fired your weapon killing somebody. Right?![]()
