I paused it a few times to study it... When he reveals it to the owner at the end there is a huge crack in the front tire... Also in some other shots when they are driving it around you can see gaps opening and closing in the front tire. Now i know these tires flex a lot, but i swear when the owner pulls up after riding it around that the front tire is wrinkled to the point of flat. I don't know why they didn't put newer tires on it, i know i know its not a purist restore then, but they said they want to actually ride it. I would have taken the original tires and stashed them away and put three new cheap tires on it and rode around on them. The seat looked wrong, i see others posted about it as well, its not sitting down on the fenders right. I wonder where they got the seat? Looked like a new cover they bought and i imagine the found the pan and foam on eBay or some such place. But the seat wasn't on there right somehow.
His prices are insane..

A few months ago, these guys: http://www.vintagemotorsports.net/ were taking orders for restored 90's. I emailed him and he said they cost $10,000. Apparently, he sells a lot of them. WTF.
He's a member on here. He posted on page 2 of this thread. His work is amazing. I didn't catch the episode about the 90. I was watching Duck Dynasty instead.Heres a link if anyone wants to watch the ATC90 episode http://www.history.com/shows/america...down-and-dirty

just to be clear, I said the black tank stripes were way off these are painted on not decals , peewees decals are real nice i use his stuff all the time .
I think the thing to point out here and im kind of backing rick up here , is he cannot be an expert on everything he restores plain and simple. look at the range of crap he gets in how can you possibly know every detail on every thing ever made , so i guess if you look at it that way he is going by what he thinks is correct. I know ATC90s inside and out but if you brought me a 1929 sewing machine to restore yea i could make it nice and pretty but Im sure not going to know every correct detail . for the average jow who just wants his old something to look shiny and new again he gets the job done , if you want it showroom new you go to a guy who lives and breathes the item you want done .
Werd!![]()
And thanks for the compliments Mike..
Which one is it? Is this thread a celebration of the ATC or is it a way to promote your products and company?

They are amazing. I'm just super jealous that I can't afford one! Maybe one day.
It was a joke..,we had to break for a commercial interruption.. Just like the tv program does that we're discussing
But to answer your question I plead the 5th
The Mrs and I watched the tail end of the show. When they started talking bout the 1000 dollar tire she said to me that I have had those in the past (yes) and could her + I make them.
Absoultly girl, yes WE can, but we are NOT going to ~ good night.
