I hope the front weight bias won't make it nose dive when you jump it. Can Am does some interesting stuff with the frontend geometry. The a arms aren't parallel with each other like the trx.

I was thinking a bit about that too. I think that this ill be the biggest issue with the machine. I think the sway bar and width and suspension will all come together to make turning/sliding very doable. But the weight front to back could be more of an issue. I do know that the missile swingarm is extremely heavy. It is very big and all steel with the jack shaft 2 chains, the rear hub and so on. My 250R has an aluminum swingarm so really the quad axle and having another tire and rim is the biggest difference.
I plan on weighing the missile rear end and the trx rear end to c the difference. Hopefully it won't be as big a difference as we think.

ok so a little progress this weekend. still at some thinking and getting some parts and looking and deciding to c what will be done.
i weighed the TRX as it was just how i bought it. it weighed in at 372lbs.
i also set the missile kit rear fender on it with an '86 ATC seat. i just wanted to c how close things are. i will for sure need to use the TRX seat so it fits the gas tank better. the rear profile and size of the seats r the same. so i will be cutting and drilling the missile fender to accept the TRX seat and latch system. i will need to trim the left side of the fender to get around the coolany overflow bottle, or move the bottle up underneath as long as it clears the tire on fully compressed suspension.
i also got my new front tires and rims for the project. went with Carlisle Trail Wolf's for the fronts because i also have one for the rear. i like the tread and look and think it will be nice to have them all match. upon looking at it i really think the power of the 250R will greatly overwhelm the single rear tire. i was thinking of maybe getting a wider flat profile rear tire like a RAZR 2 with bigger deeper lugs but there really isnt a lot of clearance inside of the missle swingarm since it was designed to fit the ohtsu 250R rear tires. i bought the Trail Wolf rear because it is a slightly rounded/ balloon style. this was with the intention of having it be on an actual ATC 250R to make it a 2 wheeler like the missile kit is intended. so on that application u need to lean the bike like a dirt bike to corner so a rounded tire would be better. i am still building one of those also but thats another day and another thread in the future.
so i assembled the missile swing arm. i pressed in the pivot bearings and ends and caps and then put on the rear tire and rim, the wave rotor and the 39 tooth sprocket. i also pressed in the wheel studs into the hub of the missile kit. only thing left really is the brake caliper and the 2 chains. then i will weight the complete missle set up so i can compare it to the stock TRX set up. i will tell u that the missile kit set up is seriously heavy. its all steel and very thick at that. i dont think there will be much difference in the two rear ends which is great. but we will c.
here r a couple pics. i couldnt resist bolting the swingarm up to a current 'R' project. check it out!! as said before one of these will be on the way too.
but can anyone notice anything about the mocked up 'R' ???? c who can figure it out....
believe me its off the ground...
